NEW BERLIN – In front of their home crowd, the Unadilla Valley football team mustered up an amazing statistical day on the ground – while the team succumbed to Deposit-Hancock for a 64-28 loss this past Friday.

Senior running back, Payton Stirone, has now played in three of four of UV’s games – rushing for an astounding 703 yards and seven touchdowns on the season.

Despite being outscored 94 to 195 on the season, it was Stirone who again provided a bright spot for The Storm – rushing for 256 yards on 28 carries.

At the half, Deposit-Hancock held a solid 28-12 lead over the home UV Storm. Deposit-Hancock’s lead rusher, their quarterback would nearly match Stirone’s production – rushing for 243 yards on just eight carries. Besting Stirone, Shaver grabbed four rushing touchdowns – 52 yards, 42 yards, 70 yards and 12 yards – throwing for a 12-yard pass to Austin Lenio as well.

D/H’s Jackson Miller added an eight-yard run for a score – with Lenio tacking on a 70 run as well – as Deposit-Hancock truly gouged the UV defenders.

Leading the touchdowns for UV was of course Stirone with three. Quarterback Dante Dye rushed for one touchdown on 17 carries for 100 yards.
