Greene Trojans Earn Revenge Win Over 2016 MAC Champs Delhi

GREENE – Hosting the rematch of the MAC Championship from a year ago, Greene took their chance, shot their shot and walked away with an unblemished 2017 record and a 3-1 win over Delhi.

“Delhi opened up a 1-0 lead off a penalty kick scored in the fourth minute of the contest (4:18), Greene responded with a goal from Mikey Repp, off a corner play with 18:08 left in the half,” said Greene head coach Rick Tallman.

Mikey Repp finished with one of three goals for the Trojans in their win at home on Tuesday, September 19.

At the half, Greene and 2016 MAC champs, Delhi were all knotted up at 1-1 – creating the tension for a terrific second half.

“In the second half River McCumiskey scored off a direct kick with 7:53 off the clock. Brandon Whitaker sealed the Greene victory with a strong individual effort, dribbling out of the sweeper position and beating the keeper one-on-one with 9:22 left on the clock,” said coach Tallman.
