Blackhawk volleyball draws even on the season with 3-0 win

OXFORD – The Oxford lady Blackhawks played their way to the tune of a 3-0 home win over Delhi on Monday.

Oxford’s Allison Beckwith helped the lead the charge in the home win – having seven aces, three kills, six assists, and one block.

In the first set of the night, on Monday, September 18, Oxford snagged a solid 25-11 win. The following two sets, Delhi was able to settle in slightly, however, that slight bit only resulted in three additional points as the Oxford defense held strong.

In set two, the lady Blackhawks won at 25-14 – followed by a set three that saw Oxford repeat for a win at 25-14.

Following Beckwith in her efforts was Allison Paster, Jessie Howe, Destiny Oralls and Andrea Dempsey. Paster finished with four aces and four digs. Dempsey snagged two digs with two kills. While Howe had four aces and Oralls had two kills.

With the home win in the books on Monday, Oxford volleyball (1-1 overall) had no down time, as they played on the road on Tuesday, September 19, at Walton at 6:30 p.m.
