Construction at county fairgrounds picking-up steam

NORWICH -- As the 170th Chenango County Fair approaches, a number of U.S. Air Force Reservists Bases -- in conjunction with the Chenango County Agricultural Society -- have been hard-at-work in implementing ‘phase two’ of the construction plan that started in 2016 to renovate the county fairgrounds.

In conjunction with the U.S. Department of Defense Innovative Readiness Training, U.S. Air Force Reservists have been bringing the construction plan to fruition at the fairgrounds, says the Chenango County Ag Society, as part of the reservists’ two-week mandatory training, which is said to elicit experience in electrical, plumbing, and contracting duties. U.S. Air Force Reservists Bases Dobbins, Travis, Dover, Niagara, and Hackam are reported to have been rotating in to contribute to the construction at the local fairgrounds.
