Marson graduates Summa Cum Laude from McDaniels College

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Casey Marson of Norwich graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from McDaniel College on Saturday, May 20.

Marson was among select graduating seniors to receive academic, activity, and leadership awards at the Senior Investiture and Honors Convocations on Friday, May 19, where she was recipient of The Eloise B. and Lowell S. Ensor Award for Graduate or Professional Study.

In addition to maintaining her studies, Marson was also a member of the McDaniel College Women's Varsity Golf Team throughout her tenure at the college.

McDaniel College awarded more than 600 undergraduate and graduate degrees during its 147th commencement ceremony on May 20.

In order to graduate summa cum laude, individuals at McDaniels College must hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.9 or higher.

Commencement speaker was College Historian James E. Lightner to kick off the college's 150th anniversary, which will be celebrated in the 2017-2018 academic year.

The graduates hailed from 26 states, plus the District of Columbia, and 17 countries.

Marson plans to attend American University Washington College of Law this fall.
