CONKLIN – Eight minutes and seven points is what separated the Purple Tornado girls basketball team from a chance to advance to a third straight class B championship game during their 2015-16 campaign as they fell to their nemesis’ from Susquehanna Valley for the second straight year in the Section IV playoffs.
The previous year, the Tornado dropped a 55-49 decision to the Sabers in the Section IV Class B finale and from there SV torched the rest of New York State on their way to a state title.
“12 months ago we were in this exact same position” said Norwich head coach Josh Bennett of the impending collision course with Susquehanna Valley. “We have a lot of seniors that are really looking forward to this game. Those kids that were in the war last year, that really want to be back in that gym and have another shot.”
