ITHACA— The Purple Tornado harriers competed this past weekend on February 10, at Cornell University for the Section IV Class Championships and came away with some top notch finishes for both the boys and girls teams. The Tornado boys finished fourth in Division 1 and ninth overall – meanwhile the NHS ladies finished seventh in Division 1 and 18th overall.

For the boys, the 55 meter dash saw Zack Race place third with a time of 6.78, while teammate Eric Conant placed sixth in a time of 6.99. Race would put his stamp on the meet claiming another third place finish in the 300 meter dash, sprinting to the finish for a time of 37.20 proved to be a new personal record in the event for Race. However, the speedsters of Conant and Race weren’t done yet and teamed up alongside fellow teammates Noah Bufalini and David Berger in the 4x200 meter relay placing fourth in a time of 1:38.94 minutes.
