S-E Boys Claim Title; Second Half Offense Leads To S-E Win Over Canastota

CANASTOTA- For the boys from Sherburne-Earlville a win clinched a Center State Conference title, but a loss meant the Marauders would have to fight another day in the hopes of adding another conference title to the boys basketball program. Fortunately for the Marauders they took home a 65-42 win over Canastota along with the coveted Center State title.

Despite a tight first two quarters in which the Marauders found themselves ahead of the Raiders 27-21 at the entering the final half of play. The Raiders’ Jeffrey Marsh was the man in charged scoring 11 of his game high 24 points over the first two periods and sought to take the lead in the third quarter as he scored eight points in the period. The Raiders must have forgotten to account for S-E’s Matt Hull, Sam Tuttle and Hunter Lane as the balanced scoring between the three teammates put a bit of breathing room between themselves and the Raiders. The trio combined for all of S-E’s points in the quarter with 16, growing their lead to 45-33.
