Norwich defeats Chenango Valley 56-30

BINGHAMTON – The lady Tornado traveled south for a road game against the Chenango Valley Warriors. The fight that is expected from a 'Warrior' was simply nonexistent from CV in the contest – as the Tornado ripped through their ranks for a crushing win at 56-30.

26 points, a monster number right out of the gates – as the Warriors were simply blown away by the power of the lady Tornado. Up 26-11 after the first period, it was the defensive efforts that stole the show as the game progressed into the halftime break. Taking their foot off the gas – as a win seemed inevitable early on – Norwich looked to tighten their defense, to which they did shutting out CV in the second period. A goose egg on the scoresheet for the Warriors coupled with 10 additional points for the Norwich girls had Norwich cruising at the half, as they were up 36-11.

Managing to not be outscored in the second half – scoring one more than CV at 20-19 – Norwich hit cruise control as the win over Chenango Valley on Feb. 2, gave Norwich their twelfth win of the season.

Norwich, (12-5 overall), will next see action home on Friday, Feb. 3, at 7:45 p.m., when the lady Tornado host rival Oneonta for their senior night celebrations.
