Bail set at $1 million cash for alleged murderer

NORWICH — Jeremy P. Coates, 46, of Norwich appeared at the Chenango County Court Monday, Oct 31 to be arraigned for his alleged involvement the death of David Green, 58, in the Town of Oxford.

Chenango County Judge Frank B. Revoir Jr. began the hearing by stating the six felony counts against Coates.

The first count being murder in the first degree is a class A felony, section 125.27 of the penal law subdivision 1A7, which reads, “The victim was killed while the defendant was in the course of committing or attempting to commit and in furtherance of robbery.”
