The Wolf Mountain Nature Center held it's tenth annual celebration this past weekend, Oct. 9. from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Attendees were treated to a multitude of events and demonstrations on the day, while also enjoying the wolves who were given a pumpkin stuffed with treats in honor of the holiday. This past May, 2016 the nature center held a "Wolf Birthday Party." Attendees of Wolf Mountain enjoyed the spring birthdays of a dozen Gray Wolves, four Eastern Coyotes, and six Arctic Foxes. The wolves, coyotes, and foxes each enjoyed nutritious cakes for their birthdays -made from scrambled eggs, pepperoni, cheese, and peanut butter. The wolves and foxes also were presented with gift wrapped boxes containing chicken. 100 percent of all the proceeds from these two events went to the care of the animals. Wolf Mountain Nature Center is open on Sunday's from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. and is located at 562 Hopkins Crandall Road, Smyrna, NY. They can be reached by phone at: 607-627-6784.
