Oxford Chief calls for community to do more

OXFORD Martin A. Logsdon Jr., 26, of Norwich, was arrested by the village of Oxford Police Department on June 10. Logsdon was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor; and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument, also a class A misdemeanor.

The arrest followed an investigation by Officer Steve Rounds into a complaint reported in the village of Oxford, resulting in the discovery of 19 bags of heroin, 32 separate glassine envelopes, and a hypodermic needle. The vehicle that Logsdon was a passenger in was stopped due to the subject allegedly becoming involved in an altercation with an older female in the vehicle, an instance reported by a complainant. Logsdon was arraigned before the village Court and remained to the Chenango County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,000 cash bail or $5,000 property bond. Additional charges are pending upon further investigation.
