Man Sentenced To Five Years In State Prison For Attempted Burglary

NORWICH – The Chenango County Court convened for a morning session on Friday, June 10, where they heard the case of Michael J. Mathis. Assistant District Attorney Laura Parker represented the people of Chenango County, while The Honorable Judge Frank B. Revoir Jr. presided over matter.

It is alleged that on Dec. 1, 2015, Mathis, 30, of Sherburne, knowingly entered a residence on Classic St. in the village of Sherburne without permission. He then proceeded to steal an Xbox console, controllers and several games. Mathis entered a guilty plea to the charge of attempted burglary in the second degree, a class D felony.
