NORWICH – The Chenango Hellcats Legion baseball team is proud to announce their summer season home, and league opener that will be held at the Norwich High School varsity field later on today, June 8, 2016.

The game is slated to start at 6 p.m., as the the Hellcats will face off against Endicott. Opening ceremonies, as well as the first pitch will begin around 5:30 p.m. Throwing out the ceremonial first pitch will be Joe Coe, a veteran and retired law enforcement officer.

After posting a 7-7 league record last year with a 7-13 overall record in the summer of 2015, second year head coach Jason Miller is looking forward to the potential of what the 2016 squad can do.

“We were a really good team (last year), a really young team, and we're still really young this year,” said Miller. “We're hoping to be pretty tough, and be competitive(this year). But as long as they're having fun.”

Coach Miller did note that he has until June 26, to finalize the roster and potentially bring on any additional players, as the roster count sits right now around 12-players.
