Published: June 3rd, 2016

CHENANGO COUNTY – Are you a Chenango County student entering grades 8 or 9 in September, 2016? Have you ever been interested in the medical field? Are you looking for something fun to do over vacation?

If you answered yes to these three questions, then you need to attend the second annual CMH Career Days. Thanks to a generous grant from the Otis Thompson Foundation, this August 16 and 17, CMH will be hosting a free two day “camp” to explore different careers in the medical field.

Activities will be hands on and will include these departments and more: Radiology, Heart Care, Emergency Room, Respiratory Therapy, Operating Room, Nursing, Maternity, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy and Nursing Home.

You will get the chance to explore different areas and try different skills, such as placing an endotracheal tube, performing an echocardiogram and even practicing laparoscopic surgery.

For more information, contact Becky Yacano at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital, 607-337-4285 or via email becky_yacano@uhs.org. Hurry and apply as we will only be able to take 20 students. Application deadline is June 17.
