Calling all cars: NECCM opens new police and muscle car exhibit

NORWICH – Hoping to draw attention to the evolution of police vehicles and muscle cars, the Northeast Classic Car Museum in Norwich will launch a new exhibit this weekend spotlighting some of the most distinguishable muscle and police cars of the latter half of the century.

After an exclusive invite-only opening slated for Friday, “Road Rivals: Police Cars vs Muscle Cars and Motorcycles” will be unveiled to the general public on Saturday, giving all car lovers a glimpse of the vehicles that inspired the cop car chases of the movies.

“The new ‘Road Rivals’ exhibit features police cars from all over the United States, along with iconic muscle cars and motorcycles,” said NECCM Executive Director Robert Jeffrey. “In addition to the new exhibit, we also have many new cars throughout the museum in pre-war and post-war exhibits. Plenty of new cars to see, even if you were here last year.”

Sponsored by NYCM Insurance, “Road Rivals” is the 19th exhibit that the museum has opened over the course of its 19-year history. A new special feature exhibit is opened at the museum every year.
