GREENE – The Greene varsity softball team hosted their final game at home on their softball diamond on May 12, coming away with dramatic 15-14 win over Marathon.

In the evenly matched game that saw each team record 16-hits a piece, it was Marathon that would play the cleaner game producing only two errors on the night and scoring in six of the seven innings.

However, despite the five errors on Greene's side, The Lady Trojans managed to string together three solid five run innings in the third, fourth and fifth to secure the 15 runs needed to edge Marathon.

Down 6-0 heading into the third inning, Alex Thompson stepped up to bat to get the first of many RBI's on the evening for Greene. Thompson connected with the ball, earning a double to right field and sending Abbey Sands home for a run.
