“This game is what the outcome should have been in our first meeting,” said Greene head coach Rick Condon of their 5-4 loss previously on the season to Harpursville. “We are on again and the ladies are focused. They want to do well in sectionals and are back to there winning ways. Their drive and will to win are back which only means good stuff.”

The lady Trojans would jump out to a 9-1 lead over Harpursville, heading into the fifth inning.

This success on the scoreboard was in part to the excellent pitching on the pitching mound from Greene's Alex Thompson, as well as her defense which backed her up well. Greene would suffered through five errors, while Harpursville surrendered plays to Greene on their own four errors.

“Alex Thompson got the job done and at the plate she went 2-3 with 2 RBI's, it was contagious,” said Condon.

Thompson threw a total 116 pitches in the seven inning game while only giving up one earned run, and striking out six batters.
