Norwich And B-G At The Square Deal Invite

JOHNSON CITY – This past Saturday, April 30, Johnson City held the Square Deal Invite for boys Track and Field. Two Chenango County teams were present for this invite which included 16 different teams.

The Norwich boys would leave the meet placing seventh overall with 29.50-points, earning one first place individual finish, with various other medalists. On the BG side for boys they would finish in fourteenth place with 2-points, seeing one athlete medal.

The Tornado girls would finish in ninth place overall with 24-points as a team, seeing one individual win first, with others medaling. The BG girls managed a thirteenth place finish with 7-points, seeing one of their athletes medal, earning a second place finish,

Binghamton high school would ultimately claim the boys side as a team with a score of 132-points; while Corning claimed the girls side with 100-points scored.

Norwich's first medalist on the day was Eric Conant, who ran a 12.19 in his 100 meter dash. This time earned Conant a fifth place finish in the meet, only .01 of a second behind Vestal's, Dylan Salisbury who ran a 12.18 second hundred for fourth place.

Ben Ericksen of Norwich would run a solid time of 4:39.99 in his 1600 meter run to claim the sixth place spot in the event, less than half a second behind Elmira's Kade Austin, who ran a 4:39.48 for fifth place.
