Norwich softball earns a mental win despite loss

SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY – The scoreline read a Susquehanna Valley win at 3-1 over Norwich, but Norwich walked away with a big mental win.

“Not a win, but on paper it was. Hannah pitched better it was great game. I told them I wanted them to play better and they did,” said Norwich head coach Scott Moore.

The game was all about defense and pitching as neither team recorded many runs.

Norwich pitcher held SV in check with her improved pitching from the first time these teams met on opening day, Norwich would lose that game 7-0.

Eddy threw out 57 strikes with only 22 balls in the contest, while she struck out four batters, and allowed only four hits.

Standout pitcher for SV, Sophia Pappas dominated the Norwich batters with her 11-strikeouts and only five hits allowed.
