WINDSOR – The Norwich varsity baseball team traveled to Windsor yesterday April 27, only to suffer a devastating loss to the Black Knights, losing 21-6.

“We scored six runs, that was positive,” said Norwich head coach Turnbull. “They’re in a different league than us, they’re that good.”

Norwich saw their batters come out early to dig them out of an early 3-0 lead by Windsor in the first inning. Norwich then went on to tie the game in the second inning at 3-3, as they scored two runs in the first and an additional run the second.

Following the second inning, Windsor elected to replace their starting pitcher, who Norwich seemed to be getting the better of early on.

“They took their first pitcher out after the second inning, we got to him a little but we just fell off,” said Turnbull. “We made seven errors today again, and when a team hits that ball as hard as they were you’re going to make more errors. That is harder than we have seen, their one through six guys were like grown men.”
