Oxford softball suffers through two tough losses after long week

OXFORD – The Oxford varsity softball team now sits at 3-7, after the latest two games they have played on Wednesday and Thursday or this week.

“Today we just showed how tired we were, we have been going, and going, and going and just haven’t had any practice time,” said Oxford head coach Heather Pizza.

Oxford currently is on 10 game, everyday streak where the only day off has come this past Sunday.

Despite the long stretch of games, and picking up three wins during that time, Oxford went into Wednesday's game against Unadilla Valley with high hopes.

Peck limited the Oxford batters to eight hits as Kylie Roys would post a game going 2-4 with two runs, Lauren Cobb would go 1-4 with two RBI's and two runs.

After jumping out to a quick 2-1 lead in the first inning, Oxford seemed to be playing from behind the remainder of the game. UV would tie the game at 2-2 in the second inning and then tack on three more in the third.
