HARPURSVILLE – The Unadilla Valley varsity baseball struggles continued as they fell to their fifth straight defeat of the season against Harpursville last Monday, Apr. 18.

The Storm were not able to muster up any kind of offensive prowess due to the sublime pitching of Harpursville’s Ryan Kachmar. He struck out 11 in just five innings of work, only allowing two hits, before JT Havens came in to close the game out. It was an opposite day on the mound for UV’s Nick Stirone. Through five innings, he gave up 12 hits, and allowed nine earned runs. Storm head coach Jason Miller tried to remain positive following the crushing defeat, “There were a couple innings of solid baseball, we were going three up, three down,” he said. “But, at the end of the day we have to make adjustments. Harpursvile got some good hits and when we gave up the runs, we had some errors.”
