NORWICH – Norwich varsity softball improves to 5-1 on the season after downing Chenango Valley in just five innings, winning 21-5.
It was senior Kassidy Seary who stole the show for the Tornado as she unloaded a monster game during Monday's contest.
“Kassidy had a two run homer in the first inning and two grand slams in the third, it was just the right timing for her,” said Norwich head coach Scott Moore.
Norwich would jump out to a 5-0 lead over the visiting Warriors, due in part to the two run homer from Seary, however, the game saw almost the entire lineup record a hit, with everyone recording a run during the game.
Seary finished the game going 3-4 at bat with three runs herself and 10-RBI's.
“It was a great win but we still have a long ways to go. But Allison (Yacano) had a really good game, all my starters got hits, and everyone on the team scored,” said Moore. “Kate (Dowdall) is seeing it and doing great, Allison has been seeing the ball better, and Hannah Eddy is seeing the ball real well. They're doing a great job this year.”
