BOONVILLE – The Sherburne-Earlville men’s varsity basketball team locked up its fourth division title in the last five years on Friday night, Feb. 5, beating Adirondack handily on a score line of 51-24.

The Marauders looked in charge from the beginning. They opened up a five-point lead after the first quarter, courtesy of some great play from their offense. Six players recorded field goals for S-E in the quarter. They continued their dominance in the second, and were up by nine points at half time, 26-17.

The Marauder defense remained consistent throughout, and held the Adirondack offense to just seven points in the entirety of the second half to secure the 27-point victory.

“We played great defense tonight,” said S-E head coach Kevin Vibbard. “We also shared the ball really well and got some good looks.”

Gavin Giroux finished as the Marauders top scorer, netting 14, while Sam Tuttle also added 10 points in the win.
