Norwich Win Reignites Oneonta Rivalry

NORWICH – Norwich men and women’s varsity bowling teams were both victorious last night against Oneonta at home.

On the men’s side, Norwich won by a convincing margin, hitting 2,882 pins to Oneonta’s 1,848. Dustin Rifanburg, who had a 236 in his second game, bowled the best game for Norwich. Zach Clipston, who finished with a 610 series on the night, bowled the best series.

On the women’s side, the matchup was a lot closer. The match came down to game three, where the Tornado edged out the Yellow Jackets 673-629. Norwich won on a final score line of 2,085 pins to Oneonta’s 2,045 pins. Megan Turner bowled the best single game for the Tornado, with a 201, while she also had the best series, hitting 500 pins over the three games.

Next up for both the Norwich men and women is Chenango Forks next Wednesday at Plaza Lanes.
