NORWICH – With the game on the line Friday night, Jan. 8, the girls failed to get a last second shot off to potentially defeat Seton Catholic. Norwich would lose 60 to 58 in dramatic fashion.

“The whole game felt like it was we were chipping away, two points here and there, and they were scoring in bunches,” said Head Coach Josh Bennett, “It’s like being a distance runner, you don’t want to let that guy get too far away you want to pull the string.”

Norwich would jump out to a slight lead in the first quarter of play leading Seton 16 to 15 heading into the second quarter.

Norwich would score first in the second, making the lead 18 to 15 in Norwich’s favor. This lead at 7:30 into the second would mark the last time the Tornado would lead in the game.

The Seton girls immediately responded rattling off back to back 3-pointers to claim the lead with just under seven minutes left in the half. Seton would outscore Norwich 23 to 14 in the second quarter, to lead Norwich at the half 38 to 30.

“If we could’ve just stopped one or two of those runs, we win,” said Bennett.
