Six Arrested For Narcotics On East Main

NORWICH – Six individuals sit in the county jail, each having been charged with drug crimes Friday night.

At approximately 10:09 p.m., the Norwich Police Department received a trespass call from 88 East Main St. in Norwich.

The complainant reported that there were individuals on the second story of the unattached garage of the property without permission to be there.

A Norwich Police Officer responded to the residence and made contact with the complainant. He then made his way to the second story where numerous individuals were located.

Drugs and drug paraphernalia were observed in plain view by the officer.

Following a more in depth investigation, six individuals were arrested.

• John E. Strong, 43, 88 East Main St, Norwich, was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony; criminal nuisance in the first degree, a class E felony; criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor; and criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth degree, a class B misdemeanor.

• Nathaniel J. Jenkins, 31, Binghamton, was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony; criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor; criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth degree, a class B misdemeanor; and loitering in the first degree, a class B misdemeanor.
