17-year-old said to be responsible for chase spanning 3 counties

NORWICH– A 17-year old male from Utica is in Broome County Jail without bail, following the high-speed police chase that started in Oneida County, went through Norwich, and ultimately ended in Broome County.

Early Saturday, Oct. 10th, at approximately 3:45a.m., La-Tee J. Baker, 17, of Utica, was located and arrested in the area of Interstate-81, near Otseningo Park in the Town of Dickinson.

Baker allegedly matched the original description of the suspect who was described as a black male, with dreadlocks who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, and black pants. He was also described as about 20-years-old, 5 feet 7 inches, and roughly 150 pounds.

The phone of Baker was allegedly left in the stolen vehicle.

Baker was charged with reckless endangerment in the first degree, a class D felony; and criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree, a class D felony.

Baker was arraigned at the Town of Chenango court and remanded to the Broome County jail; no bail has been set at this time.
