Area Soccer Finishes Weekend On A High Note

Oxford/Greene

OXFORD - On Friday, October 3, the Oxford girls' varsity soccer team hosted Greene in a match which they would win 5-1.

In the first half of play Oxford would score three of their five goals while Greene scored just one. For Oxford Carly Marshman, Jade Sansoucie, and Dallas Beyang scored to give their team the advantage.

For Greene, Kayla Page scored their one and only goal in the first half. The Blackhawk offense proved to be jsut too much for the Greene defense to handle, scoring their five goals off of 13 shots all game.

Oxford will play again tomorrow, October 6, while Greene plays Wednesday, October 7.

Individual statistics: Greene; Kayla Page, 1 goal. Lucinda Lee, 6 saves. Oxford; Dallas Beyang, 2 goals, 1 assist. Carly Marshman, 1 goal. Hannah Ryan, 1 goal. Jade Sansoucie, 1 goal. Amy Branham, 1 assist. Kaylie Rois, 1 assist.

Bainbridge-Guilford/Afton-Harpursville

AFTON - Playing at Afton on Friday, October 2, the Bainbrige-Guilford boys' varsity soccer team won 3-0.

In the first half B-G would score the only goal that they would need to win. In the second half, they would score two more to cap off the 3-0 victory.

Bainbridge-Guilford's Ben Kane, Trevor Halaquist, and Aidan Nolan all netted goals for their team during the win. Defending the goal for Afton-Harpursville was Nate Austin. Austin registered 12 saves throughout the night, defending the majority of the Bobcats shots.
