SHERBUNRE - On Friday, October 2, the Sherburne-Earlville Marauders hosted Jordan-Elbridge in a game that would go to the Eagles 16-6.

On a cold night in Sherburne the home team started off the game with the ball. After multiple attempts running the ball and one first down, S-E would have to settle for a punt. Trading punts until the second quarter, neither team would reach the end zone. With just under a minute left in the first quarter, J-E would receive a punt and start with the ball on their own 20 yard line. The Eagles then would pound out multiple short yardage runs, wearing down the Sherburne-Earlville defense. With 8:31 seconds left in the half quarterback Chris Ryan dropped back to pass and found his receiver Kyle Humberstone for a 59 yard pass. Humberstone raced down the sidelines only to be tackled at the one yard line by an S-E defender. The very next play J-E's George Richarson took the ball up the middle and pounded his way to pay dirt.
