Jury set, opening statements will be heard for Danielson murder trial

NORWICH – Prosecution contends that William H. Danielson used steel toed boots to repeatedly kick in the skull of Lucinda Knoll, resulting in her tragic death in the Maple Grove trailer park in Norwich in 2013.

Danielson, 49, of Oxford was charged with the 2013 murder of Lucinda Knoll and will appear in Chenango County Court for opening statements at 9 a.m. today.

“I have to prove the defendant intended to kill the victim. These photos show that steel toed boots were used. The defendant knew his boot was going through the victim’s skull. That is why it is so important to have these photos submitted,” said District Attorney Joseph A. McBride upon submitting photo evidence to the court on Tuesday.

Jury selection began Monday and after two rounds of jury selection that day, only seven jurors were selected. Five more were named Tuesday, along with four alternates.
