USDA earmarks $2.5 million for farmer education

CHENANGO COUNTY – Farming advocacy organizations in Chenango County may be eligible to take from a pot of $2.5 million committed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture this week in order to expand new farmer education programs nationwide.



The USDA announced this week that $2.5 million in grants is now available for projects to educate new and underserved farmers about more than 20 USDA Farm Service Agency programs that can provide financial, disaster or technical assistance to the ag community.
