Colorscape’s ‘emerging Artists’
Published: September 11th, 2015

NORWICH – Colorscape Chenango Arts Festival is pleased to announce the winners of the 2015 Francis K. Wilcox Scholarship for Emerging Young Artist Awards. They are photographer and mixed media artist Stefan Foster, a 2015 graduate of Unadilla Valley Central School, and painter and drawing artist Mattea Guidy, a 2015 graduate of Sherburne-Earlville Central School.

Stefan Foster plans to attend Daemen College to study law but anticipates spending all available free time to pursue an artistic vision. Says Stefan, “I take a greater passion in my art than I do anything else. I focus on abandonment/urbex photography, which requires extensive planning and research. There is no time for boredom. There is only time for art.”

Mattea Guidy plans to attend the State University of New York at Fredonia to study animation and illustration. Says Mattea, “The final goal and the ultimate dream of mine is to work at a major animation company such as Dreamworks or Pixar.”

Both Stefan and Mattea will be showing their artwork at Colorscape Chenango Arts Festival in downtown Norwich, September 12th and 13th, and each artist will receive a $350 award plus a $100 Golden Artist Colors Gift Certificate.

Located on the greens of East and West Parks in the city of Norwich, Colorscape features over 110 juried artists and crafters selling their wares in an interactive atmosphere that includes live music, artist demonstrations, literary and arts activities for all ages, student art exhibits, a competitive poetry slam and the finest in creative food.
