State Police seek public’s help to find missing  elderly man

CHENANGO COUNTY– The New York State Police are seeking public assistance as they currently are looking for 81-year-old Alfred H. Turshman, who is missing from his home at 232 Frye Road in the Town of German.

On August 15, 2015, at approximately 3p.m., Turshman – better known as “Big T” – was reported missing from his home by family members. Turshman was last seen on August 14 at approximately 1 p.m., in the Hamlet of Cincinnatus. According to a Facebook post from a family member, Turshman was allegedly last seen at the NBT Bank in Cincinnatus.

A search of the surrounding area is being conducted by the State Police Troopers, Bureau of Investigation, State Police Aviation Unit, State Police K-9’s, State Police SCUBA Unit, NYS Forest Rangers, NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, the Cincinnatus Fire Department and volunteer search and rescue personnel from three different counties.

Turshman is an 81-year-old white male who has dementia. He is 5’8” and weighs about 180 pounds. Turshman is bald and may be wearing a light blue and tan button down long sleeve shirt, blue jeans and brown loafers.
