For the past one and one half months I've worked here at The Evening Sun as a reporter. I covered all kinds of things from crime to, my very first article, pet crematoriums. A few weeks ago I was offered the position of sports editor and eagerly accepted, taking the chance to write about something that I have always been very interested in.

For almost as long as I've been alive the sports editor here has been Pat Newell, that's almost as much experience writing and editing as I have life experience. You could say that I have big shoes to fill. For the past few weeks Pat has been teaching me and coaching me all about the job that I am about to begin. Pat is obviously very knowledgeable about the industry and knows how to get things done, and I’ve been trying to learn from him the best I can during my time here Although I don't have as much experience writing about sports, I have just as much passion and knowledge about the games that my predecessor does.
