State partners with Avis to steer motorists away from distracted driving

ALBANY A new partnership between New York State and the Avis Budget Group aims to crack down on instances of distracted driving across the state.



Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday announced a partnership with Avis to launch two public service announcements which warn of the dangers of texting while driving. As part of the agreement, Avis will feature the public service announcements on its online reservation confirmation pages for customers renting a vehicle with Avis Car Rental or Budget Car Rental in New York State.
