‘Not-your-typical’ square dancing at DCMO BOCES

NORWICH – Let's face it, finding something to do may sometimes be a struggle in Chenango County for adults and youth alike, but soon the adult community will benefit from unique and entertaining opportunity to get out and dance... Square Dance, that is.

While Chenango County is in need for a nightlife scene for adults 18 and older, Norwich resident and entrepreneur Dan Foust believes that Modern Western Square Dancing is an answer.

Foust has been square dancing for 40 years and dances both the traditional male and female positions of square dancing through the advanced level.

An extension of his pastime, Foust has recently begun his tenure as an amateur square dance caller, and is eager to share and teach his love for square dancing to our local community.

With that in mind, Foust has established a Basic Mainstream Modern Western Square Dance class slated to begin Saturday, June 6 from 3 – 5 p.m. at the DCMO–BOCES Norwich Campus located at 6678 County Road 32.
