Norwich powers past Sus Valley

NORWICH – Norwich returned to its winning ways winning for the eighth time in nine matches this season, Thursday against visiting Susquehanna Valley.

Norwich realigned its second doubles tandem as freshman Austin Benenati, stepping in for injured Cameron Edwards, teamed with Jamison Luke for the pair's first victory of the season. "They seemed to find a comfort zone today," said Norwich coach John Stewart of the second doubles team.

Norwich plays at Chenango Valley today.

Doubles: Alec Weaver-Brendon Budd (N) d. Kent Boatman-Tyler Miller, 6-1, 6-1. Jamison Luke-Austin Benenati (N) d. Dusty Root-Cody Jacobs, 6-3, 6-3; Jordan Vinal-Mike McLaughlin (N) d. Christian Kilmer-Daniel Sheridan, 6-3, 7-5.

Bainbridge-Guilford 3, Oxford 2

OXFORD – At Oxford Thursday, Spenser Stevens and Thomas Petrutoni won in three sets over Oxford's Gavin Wheatley and Heath Hadlock to clinch B-G's first win of the season.

The Bobcats' Ben Gabriel Gonzalez and Nate Hager added wins at first and second singles respectively.

Nate Hansen won at third singles for Oxford, and did not surrender a game. Tim Hinman teamed with Emma Hess to give the Blackhawks a victory at second doubles.
