Unadilla Valley 15, Oxford 12

OXFORD – Unadilla Valley got off to a fast start, and needed every bit of that start to hold off Oxford Tuesday.

The Storm, 18-0 winners over Oxford this past Saturday, opened with seven runs in the first inning. The first five baserunners reached by walk or hit, and Jackie Smith, Alex Bodie, and Alysa Mumbulo had RBI hits in succession to kick off the rally.

Bodie finished 3-for-5 with four RBI to lead UV, and Blaize Kolvik had two hits, two RBI, and two runs scored. Lauren Lloyd also had two hits in the win.

"They were aggressive at the start, and they had the confidence after playing us this weekend," said Oxford coach Heather Pizza of UV. "We started hitting the ball as the game wore on, and we picked up our confidence."

Oxford closed with eight runs over the final three innings to come within three runs. Kylie Roys went 4-for-5 in the loss with two RBI, Raigen Ehly had three hits and two RBI, and Layla Kriz homered finished 2-for-3 with a team-best four RBI.

Oxford plays at Walton today.
