Guilford Residents Left Homeless Following Early Trailer Fire

GUILFORD – Three local fire companies worked a fully involved structure fire in the early hours of Monday morning enduring frigid cold wind-chill temperatures flirting near -30°F.

According to Chenango County Chief Dispatcher A. Jones, the fire call was received by 911 dispatchers at 1:49 a.m. from 1471 County Road 35 in the Town of Guilford.

Guilford Fire Chief Ken Haynes said that upon arrival to the scene, that the house trailer was nearly fully involved and that three occupants of the home has escaped.

Mutual aid assistance was provided by the City of Norwich Fire Department along with The Village of Oxford Fire.
