NORWICH – NBT Bank’s Wall of Art is featuring the photography of Mark Larsen at the bank’s Norwich Office on South Broad Street. His work will be on display through the end of February.

In this exhibit, Larsen focused on capturing a variety of scenes from across the United States relying solely on film and traditional black and white, wet darkroom printing rather than digital photo processing. “These photos were taken with either a large format wooden field camera or a manual 35 mm camera. Using traditional tools and techniques is challenging and time-consuming,” he said. “But, I enjoy physically handling the materials, making unique handmade prints and experimenting with processes and styles.”

For its Wall of Art, NBT Bank is partnering with the Chenango County Council of the Arts to highlight the creativity of area residents. Council Executive Director Diane Batson-Smith said, “At a time when so much photography is produced digitally, Larsen is truly amazing in his ability to utilize traditional photography equipment and darkroom techniques to capture and skillfully reproduce a wide range of images.”
