Chenango County Traffic Safety Board poster contest reveals dangers of distracted driving

CHENANGO COUNTY – As part of the Chenango County Traffic Safety Board’s Driving Awareness Campaign, the Board is sponsoring a poster contest for school aged children who attend schools in the county.

The winning posters will be used for public information and educational purposes in conjunction with the Chenango County Traffic Safety Board’s Distracted Driving Awareness Campaign.

Interested students must create a poster to raise awareness about the dangers of distracted driving. The purpose of this contest is to create a poster that primarily focuses on why it is unsafe to use cell phones or any hand held electronic devices while driving. Students’ artwork should portray what is at risk as a result of this behavior, what are the possible outcomes of an automobile crash related to distracted driving and/or alternatives to avoid distracted driving behaviors.
