Norwich community offers free Christmas meal

Area volunteers and Gus's Steakhouse joined forces to offer people in the community a hot meal and good company on Christmas Day at the Methodist Church in downtown Norwich. The meal was being offered to anyone who wanted to share in a hot meal on Christmas day for whatever reason. The event was pulled together in two days and was prepared to feed and entertain 100 people. Maria Stamatatos, contributor to the event, said, "within an hour of planning this event, we had 12 volunteers." Volunteers that contributed to the Christmas meal are pictured from left to right: Maggie O'Connor, Brendan LaChance, Olivia Eddy, Michael O'Connor, Nellie Valishinas, Randy Strobel, Debi Strobel, Alexandra Stamatatos, Eric Guinn, Nick Donnison, Patti McKenna, Steven White, Maria Stamatatos, Eric Wich, Ariel Wich, and Evelynn Wich in the arms of her grandmother, Debbie Minami.
