Norwich 43, Windsor 39

WINDSOR – Norwich had its big guns ready for the end of Tuesday’s dual meet with Windsor.

Losing by eight, defending state champions Tristan Rifanburg and Frankie Garcia picked up pinfall victories to give the Tornado a come-from-behind win.

“It’s pretty nice when it comes down to Tristan and Frankie,” said Norwich coach Terry Hagenbuch.

Rifanburg (152) and Garcia (160) wasted little time earning their wins. Rifanburg earned a pin in 64 seconds, and Garcia notched his own pin in just 43 ticks.

Norwich started strong getting a decision win from Trey Muserallo at 170 pounds. Windsor then surged into the lead with a pair of pins and forfeits at 220 and 285 pounds.

“It’s tough giving up 12 points, but we’ll get a couple guys back soon and be even tougher,” Hagenbuch said.

Brenden Gager (106) won by forfeit beginning a string of four straight Norwich wins. Dalen Geislinger (113) and Ty Rifanburg (126) sandwiched pins around Zach Mills’ major decision victory at 120 pounds. Cole Rifanburg (138) also won by pinfall.

Norwich competes in the Owego Duals on Friday and Saturday.
