NEW BERLIN – Unadilla Valley improved its unbeaten record to 7-0 scoring both of its goals in the first half in a win over visiting Sidney Thursday.

Julia Oglesby had both UV goals scoring with 11:35 left and at the 1:09 mark. “Julia had a great game, Nikki Gramstad played hard defense in the midfield, and Lanie White and Jackie Smith were a great support for the defense,” said UV coach Diane Hayes. “Sierra Badger and Jessica Smith were really strong for us up front tonight.”

The Storm, sporting just one senior – Emily Converse – recognized Converse’s contributions on senior recognition day.

GREENE – It only took 24 hours for Greene to avenge its first league loss in over two years.

Coming off a one-goal overtime defeat on Wednesday, the Trojans overcame lingering fatigue to record the shutout victory. “I told them before the game that I knew we were on tired legs, but to work within the system,” said Greene coach Rick Tallman. “We played a pretty tactical game tonight in which we were trying to conserve energy, but also control the game at the same time. We had different guys step up, and we managed to get the job done.”
