Oneida 2, Sherburne-Earlville 1
SHERBURNE – Sherburne-Earlville took a step in the right direction Monday night, albeit in a defeat to Oneida.
The Indians' Taylor Schneider snapped a one-all tie with 2:14 left in the game to give her team the victory.
"Even though there was no practice between games, this was a 100 percent improvement over the weekend," said S-E coach Sheila Cooman. "The defense was better, we put pressure on their goalie...I really wish we could have pulled out the win."
S-E took a 1-0 lead into halftime on a perfectly executed penalty corner. Megan Rodman inserted the ball into the circle where Emma Hodges took the ball in and delivered the opening goal.
Whitney Coleman tied the game for Oneida just 4:34 into the second half.
The Marauders host New York Mills Thursday.
