New director named to lead Morrisville Norwich campus in new direction

NORWICH – Morrisville State College has named a new executive director for its Norwich campus, bringing new vision and leadership to the school on Conkey Ave. and strengthening the college’s partnership with the Chenango County community.

The college announced last week that Jason Zbock, formerly the dean of Institutional Effectiveness and Enrollment Planning at Broome Community College, will take the reigns effective Sept. 2.

In his new role at SUNY Morrisville, Zbock said he hopes to strengthen partnerships with the university’s stakeholders and better connect the Norwich campus to the needs of the community. Zbock is already familiar with the campus having served as an assistant professor of mathematics at Morrisville from 2000-2011, followed by a year-and-a-half-long stint as an adjunct faculty member starting in 2013.

Prior to his recent appointment at Morrisville, Zbock was a member of the President’s Executive Council at Broome Community College where he served as Chair of the Council of Operational Issues, focusing on matters including assessment, outreach, retention, and enrollment planning.
