DVD Patrol: Several New Movies Hit Stores

Sometimes with DVDs, you can have a theme, Patrollers! The DVD Patrol this time out has managed to put together a nice little collection with an assortment of heroes in different roles. With everything from army rangers to a wife looking for her husband, a lawyer finding her way back, and finally a cop transformed into part machine. See if you can find something you like.

Robocop (2014) - Being a police officer can be a tough proposition. Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) was a good cop and did his best to do his job amidst all the corruption and greed going in the city around him. Alex has been investigating a crime boss but when he gets too close, his car is sabotaged and he's left for dead. His family finds him and a company called Omnicorp has a way of saving his life which may cost him more than he's willing to give. He goes through with their offer and after a successful operation, he's transformed into a new type of cop (codenamed Robocop) with new abilities that will leave criminals running for the hills. Omnicorp has plans for Murphy but he has his own agenda to do what he wants to especially finding the people who hurt him. Are the bad guys and the company going to take control of Murphy? Another movie along the same lines is in theaters today with Tom Cruise trying to use a cyborg suite of his own to take down alien invaders in "Edge of Tomorrow" in theaters right now.

Lone Survivor - The fight for freedom is never an easy one. Based on the best selling book, Marcus Luttrell (Mark Wahlberg) has been an soldier for a long time and has been leading his men on several missions. On his latest assignment, they're tasked to find or eliminate a Taliban leader who's been terrorizing the region. During their mission, the team are left to fend for themselves without any support. Now they have find a way to get out and complete their mission. Can they do it? Wahlberg is getting ready to team up with the Autobots in "Transformers: Age of Extinction" coming to theaters on June 27.

In The Blood - You never want to get in someone's way when they're after something. Ava (Gina Carano) and her husband were on vacation. They get separated and Ava has never been someone who would stand by and let something happen to someone she cares about. She finds her way through the island and is led to the conclusion that her husband has been taken hostage and she thinks knows who it is. They don't the can of worms they have opened. Is Ava going to find her husband alive? Carano has several upcoming projects going on and has some other great DVDs including "Haywire,"" Fast and Furious 6," and "Blood and Bone" all on DVD now.

The Trials of Cate Mccall - Everyone has to go through a lot to get what they want or to find their way back. Cate Mccall (Kate Beckinsale) managed to lose custody of her daughter and lose her job by drinking her way out of them. Now there is a chance to get it all back but she'll have to defend a woman who might be gulity of murder. Being watched at every turn, she has to toe a very tough line to win her case. Can Cate do what she has to and prove she can do the job again? Some great DVDs starring Beckinsale from the vault include "Underworld,""Contraband (with Mark Wahlberg), and "Van Helsing (starring Hugh Jackman) and are available in stores right now.
