Norwich stranded 16 on base in Tuesday’s loss to the Windsor Black Knights.

The Tornado left the bases loaded in the second, third and sixth innings.

“We left at least one guy on in every inning,” said Norwich varsity baseball head coach Rich Turnbull, “ We weren’t swinging the bat.”

The Tornado walked 14 times and had nine strikeouts.

Robert Jeffery went 2-3 with a run scored.

Norwich 6, Johnson City 1

Norwich scored four runs in the fourth inning to beat Johnson City on Monday.

Cody Barnes and John Yacano singled in the fourth, followed by a full count walk for senior Nick Mooney.

With the bases loaded, Collin Fern hit a two RBI single scoring Yacano and Barnes.

With Fern and Mooney at first and second, Robert Jeffrey hit a triple down the left field line, scoring both.

Fern would finish 2-4 with three RBI.

“He had back to bak innings with RBI” said Norwich varsity baseball head coach Rich Turnbull, “He had huge hits for us.”
